The $86.2M is our arithmetic on two figures stated together on page 8 of the Legislative Council Staff memorandum on major IT capital construction projects, written for the Joint Technology Committee in December 2022: $57.8M of cash-funds spending authority for phases one and two across FY 2016-17, FY 2017-18 and FY 2018-19, and $28.4M more in FY 2021-22 to finish the work and replace the tax system. $57.8M + $28.4M = $86.2M. No FY 2026-27 IT-capital line remains — UI modernization has shifted into CDLE's operating budget as 'Technology Initiatives': $30,459,436/yr with 74 dedicated staff, paid by the employer-funded UI Program Support Fund. The project has effectively become a permanent program.
